We've got a recap of the Buckeye game coming, but as they say, stop the (Word)Presses: I-AA Appalachian State has just knocked off Michigan in the Big House. They're already talking greatest upset in college football history on the WWL right now (because recent = great, right?). But, it is the FIRST FREAKIN' TIME IN HISTORY A RANKED TEAM HAS BEEN DEFEATED BY A LOWER DIVISION TEAM.
The whole thing has us slightly conflicted, though. On one hand, I'm hard pressed to think of anything cooler happening to the Wolverines. A loaded team getting beat by a non D-I team in their home opener. Amazing. On the other hand, Southern Football Man (apologies to Mr. Young) will be doing a lot of chest thumping over the next few weeks and that's slowly but surely creeping up the list of things that annoy me in life. It's still ranked behind all-things Michigan, but it just passed getting attacked by cobras if that tells you anything.
We were lucky enough to score some screen shots of the Mlive forums taken at various stages of the collapse:
Wow. Seriously. Wow. I just hope that Brian doesn't crawl into a hole and disappear for 4 months. Who will run the BlogPoll?
There's probably a downside for Buckeye fans as well though: this will probably be Lloyd's final season at the helm. So get your LLLLLOYD shirts now. They'll be collector's items!
UPDATE: Video goodness.
