Turner Out 8 Weeks

Talk about a blow to what has been a great start to the 2009-2010 basketball season, Evan Turner will miss 8 weeks with a transverse process fracture on the second and third lumbar vertebra of his spine.

Turner was leading the team in points, rebounds, and assists and his production will have to be made up through a contribution of his teammates, particularly David Lighty, Jon Diebler, and William Buford, stepping up in his absence. In NCAA hoops it is important t have both a big man and a point guard if you want to do any damage in conference play, and with an already thin front line, the Buckeyes will have to play without their lead man.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here on out, but with games against Butler and West Virginia left on the out of conference slate and going on the road for four of the first five Big Ten games will not be pleasant without The Villian. The rest of the December and the month of January will tell us how good this team truly can be as they will be without their leader. Perhaps a chance for the WB to finally come through?
