The Lantern is reporting that Urban Meyer has added former Miami Dolphins assistant Bill Sheridan to his coaching staff. Sheridan would be the ninth new staff-related hire Meyer has made since assuming the head coaching position at Ohio State.
Sheridan is a likely a replacement for Taver Johnson, the Buckeyes' former DB coach who recently left the staff to join Paul Haynes at Arkansas.
His collegiate coaching stops include Notre Dame, Michigan State, Army and Cincinnati. Sheridan also coached under Lloyd Carr at Michigan for three years and was on his staff during the Wolverines' sole Tressel-era victory over Ohio State in 2003. /trollgaze
Sheridan is also the father of former Michigan quarterback Nick Sheridan, who battled Steven Threet for the Wolverines' starting position in 2008 before both players ended up transferring.
