UPDATE 7/7 8:14AM: Ohio State has released a statement:
"We are aware of the situation and I can confirm the identity. We are in the process of gathering more information. At this point we won’t have further comment until after we know and understand all the details."
Ohio State senior linebacker Storm Klein was charged with domestic violence and assault, both misdemeanors, on Friday. According to Franklin County Municipal Court records, Klein's arraignment is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:00am.
It will be interesting to see how Urban Meyer handles Klein's situation. Meyer has taken an aggressive early stance with players that have run afoul of the law, dismissing defensive backs Dominic Clarke and DerJuan Gambrell in mid-January and then revoking the summer scholarships of tight end Jake Stoneburner and offensive lineman Jack Mewhort after the pair was arrested earlier in the summer for urinating in public and then running from police officers.
Klein had a previous brush with the law in the summer of 2010 -- also for assault, but subsequently had his charges dropped and received no punishment for the incident.
