The hard-hitting safety Urban Meyer absolutely had to have is the newest member of the Silver Bullets.
Five-star Rossville (GA) Ridgeland product Vonn Bell has verbally committed to Ohio State at a Signing Day press conference this morning, filling an area of need for the roster and taking one of the most highly sought-after players in the country off of the board.
Bell is rated as the country's second best safety by the 247 Composite and was named an Under Armour All-American, starring in the nationally televised game back in the beginning of January. It was there that the Buckeyes started to make their big move on the super prospect, with Jalin Marshall, Joey Bosa, Cam Burrows, Gareon Conley, and other OSU commits forging a friendship with Bell that has lasted over the last month.
If you've followed his story you know Bell's recruitment has been an absolute roller coaster, with Alabama, Tennessee, and Ohio State all taking turns over the last month as "supposed leaders" for his services. The Buckeyes won out in the end, giving Meyer 26 25 members in the recruiting class of 2013, and wrapping up this cycle with a legitimate chance at the nation's top recruiting class.
Stay tuned to 11W throughout the day for more information regarding Bell's decision, as well as other happenings in the Ohio State recruiting world.
