After coming close the last couple of years, the Ohio State men's lacrosse team finally punched through, knocking off top seed and No. 4-ranked Denver 11-10 in the ECAC tournament championship game Saturday at Boswell Field in Geneva, N.Y.
Sophomore Turner Evans netted the game-winner, his fourth of the day, with 24 seconds remaining.
The victory brings the league's automatic NCAA tournament bid to the 10th-ranked Buckeyes. Pairings for the 16-team bracket, set to begin Saturday and Sunday, will be announced tonight at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
