The bye week gave several of Buckeyes a chance to go home for the weekend and have a few home-cooked meals. Ryan Shazier and Joel Hale took full advantage of the opportunity as the pair traveled to Hale's hometown of Greenwood, Ind.
Shazier was going into the weekend about five pounds underweight, and it was Mrs. Hale's job to make sure Shazier was back to 230 by the end of the weekend. Mission accomplished as both of them were spot-on for their weigh-ins while getting a chance to watch some football.
Hale was adamant that he doesn't ever think about the rankings or how the Buckeyes stack up to other teams nationally. Shazier expressed pleasure in watching a certain team fall at the hands of Penn State.
Philly Brown was all-business as usual, talking about Ohio State's efforts to develop a couple more playmakers. While he couldn't mention any names, he said that there were a couple young skill players that the team was looking to start getting some playing time.
