Believe it or not, Tom Izzo did not start his coaching career as head coach of the Michigan State Spartans. (Google it if you must.)
His career actually began at something called Ishpeming High School in 1977. He looked exactly like you'd expect a man in 1977 to look (via @dnainfo_breen):
