Twice last season, Duke guard Grayson Allen tripped flagrantly opponents on the court, the second of which earned him a reprimand from the ACC.
Wednesday night, Allen did it again, tripping Elon's Steven Santa Ana on the baseline. The play earned Allen a technical, prompting Allen to throw an epic bench tantrum.
So what do you do if you're Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski? Nothing, apparently.
"I handle things the way I handle them,'' Krzyzewski said. "And I think I've handled this correctly, and I will continue to handle it correctly, and I don't need to satisfy what other people think I should do.''
Allen did apologize to to Santa Ana, his teammates and the officials following the game, but for a third infraction like this, that isn't enough.
Indeed, it was just nine months ago that Krzyzewski publicly chastised Oregon's Dillon Brooks for his behavior on the court. But when it comes to his own player, Krzyzewski won't lead.
UPDATE: Allen was suspended indefinitely by Duke Thursday morning.
