Bob Huggins’ tenure as West Virginia’s head coach is over.

The longtime Mountaineers coach resigned on Saturday night, one day after he was arrested in Pittsburgh for driving under the influence. He wrote in his resignation letter that he intends to retire.

According to a police report obtained by CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander, Huggins was found to have a blood-alcohol level of .21 after he stopped in the middle of a roadway in Pittsburgh with a flat tire. Per the criminal complaint, Huggins was unable to say where he was or how he got to Pittsburgh, telling an officer multiple times he thought he was in Columbus after attending a camp in Sherrodsville, Ohio. Empty beer cans and bottles were found in his vehicle.

Huggins’ resignation comes just over one month after his salary was reduced by WVU and his contract was changed to a one-year deal after he used a homophobic slur during an appearance on a Cincinnati radio station.

Huggins was previously arrested for DUI when he was the head coach at Cincinnati in 2004. Huggins would ultimately resign from the Bearcats in 2005.

Across 41 total seasons as a head coach, Huggins compiled a 935-414 record with 26 NCAA Tournament appearances, including one Final Four berth at WVU, two additional Elite Eight trips at Cincinnati and eight total Sweet 16 appearances. An assistant coach at Ohio State from 1978-80, Huggins began his head coaching career at Walsh from 1980-83 before becoming the head coach at Akron from 1984-89. He was the head coach at Cincinnati for 16 years, then spent one year at Kansas State before taking the job at West Virginia, his alma mater, where he also had a 16-year tenure.
