Randy Edsall's Maryland hung tough at times, but even victory reportedly wasn't enough to save his job.
Maryland fell to No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday, 49-28. Before the contest, Randy Edsall was seen walking around and shaking the hand of every Terrapin player.
After the game, a reporter asked if this was part of his normal pregame routine.
Edsall took exception to the question, before ridiculing the reporter — "Have you ever been to one of our games since I've been head coach here at the University of Maryland?" — then telling him it's something he's always done.
Not content to leave it there, Edsall promptly left the postgame interview session to the applause of at least a few in attendance.
Maryland now sits at 2-4.
