"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." -Winston Churchill
Let's cut to the chase: Our nemesis went 12-3 and had a stellar first week of the season. Can he keep up this torrid pace? If so, that would be deserving of some major props. Meanwhile, we had a rough start missing on 10 of 14 picks (with one push).
The games we got right included Georgia Tech (+3) vs. Tennessee, Michigan (-4) vs. Florida, and Louisville @ Purdue (Under 68.5 points).
It's also worth mentioning that our pick for the Auburn vs. Georgia Southern game was actually Auburn (-34). We previously listed the line as 35 (Clay had Southern +35) but it had moved before submitting our picks. Auburn won by a score of 41-7, so chalk that up as a win for Mr. Travis and a push for us.
With his picks coming on Sundays (and not being published until Wednesday) and ours coming a few days later, this is bound to happen from time to time as the lines typically move a bit throughout the week.
- Visual Evidence From Week One: CLICK
Despite the lack of thought and analysis in this process, the biggest surprise from week one may have been the Michigan/Florida game going over 44.5 points. That's a pick I myself would have bet against regardless of the Travis #take. The Wolverines were up 26-17 late in the fourth quarter. With less than two minutes left they recovered a fumble in the end zone. Final score: Michigan 33, Florida 17. That is what they call a bad beat.
Just to reiterate a few things:
- No analysis is involved as we are just making the opposite picks. None of this actually reflects our thoughts, opinions, or insight.
- For now we are sticking with $10 on each line.
- Ohio State lines will NOT be included, but you're more than welcome to scope out the competition's thoughts (Spoiler Alert: He has Oklahoma +7).

11W Week Two Picks:
Alabama (-44) vs. Fresno State
North Carolina (+9.5) vs. Louisville
Clemson (-5.5) vs. Auburn
Notre Dame (-4) vs. Georgia
USC (-6) vs. Stanford
South Carolina (+2.5) @ Missouri, UNDER 74 points
Where Things Stand:
- Initial Funds: $500
- Previous Week: Loss of $72.73
- Current Funds: $427.27
- Pending Bets: 7
- Pending Funds: $70
A quick glimpse at the picks for week two and there are some mixed feelings. Clemson (-5.5) is probably the one I feel the best about. 44 points is a ridiculous spread even for Alabama at home, and I absolutely hate picking Notre Dame to win football games—even in South Bend and against a true freshman quarterback.
Let's hope for a better week. #GetRich #ShootersShoot
