Mike Nugent is unquestionably the best place kicker in Ohio State's storied history. Nugent has the following records: most field goals made in a career, most FGs made in a season, most 50+ yard FGs made in a season and career, most consecutive FGs made and he has the best percentage for a career.
Nugent was also a two-time All-American, team captain and the only place kicker to be named Ohio State's Team MVP.
