In 1936 the NFL held its first draft. Two Buckeyes were selected and thus began the 80 year relationship of Ohio State providing talented players to the NFL machine. This series will break down all eight NFL divisions and the teams that drafted the 416 Ohio State players.

AFC SOUTH
Teams in the AFC South have selected 25 Buckeyes. 5 of the 25 were First Round picks. The Colts are the only team in the AFC South to select a Buckeye in the first round. Will the Jaguars, Texans or Titans break their Ohio State first round drought this year?
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts franchise is first in the AFC South and ranks 8th all-time with 19 Ohio State draft picks. The first Buckeye selected by the Colts was defensive tackle Bob Myer in 1955. The last Ohio State player drafted by the Colts was offensive tackle Jack Mewhort in 2014.
Highest selected player
QB Art Schlichter was selected 4th in the 1982 NFL Draft. He started six games over four years with the Colts. Schlichter's last stint in the NFL was with the Buffalo Bills, but he was released before the start of the 1986 season. He completed 45 percent of his passes for 1,006 yards, 3 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 13 games. Schlichter lost all six of his NFL starts.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans are a distant second in the AFC South with 2 Ohio State draft picks. The 2 picks puts Tennessee 29th all-time. In 2003 defensive back Donnie Nickey became the first Buckeye to get drafted by the Titans. In 2004 linebacker Robert Reynolds became the last Ohio State player drafted by the Titans.
Highest selected player
DB Donnie Nickey was the 154th pick of the 2003 NFL Draft. Nickey played all eight seasons with the Titans. The majority of his playing time was as a special teams player. Nickey retired after the 2010 season. During his career he played in 124 games and made 108 tackles.
Houston Texans
Houston is a distant second in the AFC South and ranks 28th all-time with 3 Ohio State draft picks. The first Buckeye selected by the NFL version of the Texans was running back Jonathan Wells in 2002. The last Ohio State player drafted by the Texans was wide receiver Braxton Miller in 2016.
Highest selected player
WR DeVier Posey was selected 68th in the 2012 NFL Draft. Posey played two full seasons with the Texans. He was traded to the New York Jets but was released before the start of the 2015 season. Posey signed a reserve/future contract with the Broncos in January 2016. Posey played in 26 games for the Texans and caught 22 passes for 272 yards.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars are No. 4 in the AFC South and rank last (32nd) all-time with 1 Ohio State draft pick. Last year Jacksonville finally took a Buckeye when they selected defensive tackle Michael Bennett in the sixth round.
Highest selected player
Michael Bennett was the 180th player picked in the 2015 NFL Draft. Bennett recorded 10 tackles and half a sack during his rookie season.
