Former Ohio State and current Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was reportedly detained by Columbus police on Friday night.
According to TMZ, Elliott was detained for approximately four minutes outside of The Social Room, though no explanation was given as to why he was detained. Elliott was quick to respond to the news on Twitter, disputing the report in a now deleted tweet.
"I was never 'detained' by the police. Nor was I ever questioned or in any type of trouble," he said.
TMZ amended its report on Sunday morning after talking with one of Elliott's representaties.
The rep did not describe the incident but says it did not involve Ezekiel.
An eyewitness had told TMZ the Cowboys star had been detained but we're told that was not the case ... the rep says Ezekiel voluntarily gave cops some information and then left.
Elliott is already under the watchful eye of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who said last month an investigation into domestic violence allegations had not reached a conclusion though a Columbus city attorney closed the case more than four months ago.
