Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated reports Ohio State Deputy Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond is a "front-runner" for Boston College's top athletics post.
Jarmond, 37, joined Ohio State in 2009 as Associate Athletic Director for Development. He currently administrates the football program among a host of other duties and is widely considered Gene Smith's top lieutenant.
From Thamel:
He’s been regarded highly enough that he got long looks at recent openings at both Syracuse and Mississippi State. He was recently named one of the Forty Under 40 by the Sports Business Journal. Jarmond would become the youngest athletic director at the Power 5 level.
Boston College's latest athletic director, Bob Bates, resigned in late February.
