There will be eight new members inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame this fall.
Included in the group are LeCharles Bentley (football), Mike Conley (men's basketball), Tom Byers (men's track and field), Chelsea Davis (women's diving), Pete Hanson (men's volleyball), Bryce Keough (wrestling), Christina Manning (women's track and field) and Nancy Pearson (women's swimming).
The entire 2017 class will be inducted Oct. 6 and introduced at halftime of Ohio State's homecoming football game against Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Bentley will become the 122nd member of the football program inducted into the Ohio State Hall of Fame. He was a three-year starter for the Buckeyes on the offensive line and was a consensus All-American as a senior in 2001.
Conley led the Ohio State basketball team to a national championship game appearance as a freshman in 2007. He was a first-team All-Big Ten point guard during his one season of collegiate play and wound up the No. 4 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, where he still stars. He is the 39th member of the men's basketball program to be inducted into the Ohio State Hall of Fame.
Hanson, the Ohio State men's volleyball head coach, is coming off back-to-back national championships as the program has three since 2011.
