Ohio State lands former Rice offensive tackle Ethan Onianwa out of the transfer portal.
Kyle Young added yet another offer to his name Wednesday afternoon, and this one came from the home state school.
After picking up offers from Michigan State, N.C. State, Florida and West Virginia recently while on the AAU circuit, Young added one from Ohio State on Wednesday, according to Corey Albertson of Triple Double Prospects. Young received his offer while on an unofficial visit, according to Albertson.

Young is currently rated as a three-star prospect and is the nation's No. 148 recruit, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. Those are likely to change following the AAU season, however, as Young is enjoying a big spring for King James Shooting Stars. He is averaging 13.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for King James through two sessions of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, which has Session III this weekend in Norfolk, Virginia.
A 6-foot-7 wing, Young projects to play either the small forward or power forward spot at the next level. He can play inside or outside and his versatility, Young says, is something college coaches love.
At the EYBL's second session in Indianapolis a few weeks back, Young said Ohio State had only recently started recruiting him, but that interest had grown significantly.
“[Ohio State] just started recruiting me a couple weeks ago,” Young said. “I got a text from coach [Jeff] Boals and he started contact with me. Then he moved to Stony Brook so now coach [Greg] Paulus and coach Matta called me like two nights ago so they’ve just started recruiting me.”
The Buckeyes seem to have seen enough in the evaluation process as they extended a scholarship offer Wednesday. Prior to being offered, Young was asked in Indianapolis what an offer from Ohio State would mean to him.
“They’re the home school and stuff like that,” he said. “Ohio State, I always grew up watching them so [hearing from OSU] was pretty cool.”
