Kelsey Mitchell, Ohio State's sophomore guard, led the country in scoring last season with 24.9 points per game and made an NCAA single-season record 127 3-pointers.
Mitchell became Ohio State's third Associated Press Preseason All-American on Monday, following in the footsteps of Jessica Davenport (2005-06) and Jantel Lavender (2009-10, 2010-11).
The voting breakdown of the top five:
PLAYER | CLASS | SCHOOL | POSITION | VOTES | 2014-15 STATS |

MORIAH JEFFERSON | SENIOR | CONNECTICUT | G | 22 | 12.4 ppg, 4.9 apg, 2.5 spg, 58.7 fg pct |
Any All-American nod is impressive, but especially so for a player at such a young age.
Fans won't need to wait long before seeing Mitchell against top flight competition. Ohio State's women's team heads to Columbia to face Tiffany Mitchell's South Carolina Gamecocks Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Buckeyes are scheduled to follow that up Monday with a game against Breanna Stewart and Moriah Jefferson's UCONN Huskies.
