Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
Austin Grandstaff already bid his adieu, but where one Texan is leaving another is entering.
Ohio State freshman forward Mickey Mitchell, embroiled in an eligibility imbroglio since arriving in Columbus, has been cleared by the NCAA. Better yet, he's eligible for tomorrow's game against No. 4 Kentucky (3:30, CBS) in Brooklyn.
Gene Smith released the following statement:
"Ohio State freshman forward Mickey Mitchell has been declared eligible by the NCAA Eligibility Center and will be available to play Saturday vs. Kentucky in New York," Gene Smith, Ohio State vice president and director of athletics, said. "The efforts of the NCAA staff to bring this to closure is greatly appreciated."
After the news broke Friday, Mitchell tweeted his excitement:
THE WAIT IS OVER.
