Mike Conley lost his battle to Achilles tendonitis in his left foot last month when the Memphis Grizzlies ruled the ninth-year point guard out of action for "three to four weeks."
Though that timetable is up, it looks like we won't be seeing Conley for the rest of the campaign. The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Monday night the Grizzlies re-evaluated Conley last week, and it was in his best interest to return next season as he's still walking in a boot and with a limp.
Though a miraculous recovery can't be ruled out and the currently No. 5-seeded Grizzlies start the playoffs later this month, both the team and Conley are both thinking about his long-term health by sidelining him for the rest of the season..
Conley averaged 15.3 points and 6.1 assists in 56 games during the 2015-16 season. He's set to enter free agency for the first time this summer.
