A potential replacement for Jeff Boals on Thad Matta's staff is reportedly off the market. According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, new Vanderbilt coach Bryce Drew will hire Jake Diebler as an assistant coach.

Diebler has been Ohio State's video coordinator since the summer of 2013. He is the older brother of former Buckeye player Jon Diebler.

The last time Matta needed to fill an assistant coaching position he promoted then-video coordinator Greg Paulus. It was certainly an option here again to replace Boals with Diebler, but Diebler opted to go with Drew to Vanderbilt. Diebler played collegiately at Valparaiso.

Boals was reportedly named the head coach at Stony Brook on Friday.

Matta now has two spots on his staff he must fill for next season: one full-time assistant and a video coordinator.
