Moments after announcing a matchup with Virginia as part of the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Ohio State released its 2016-17 non-conference schedule in its entirety Tuesday.
The Buckeyes will begin their season Friday, Nov. 11 at Navy as part of the Veterans Classic. Other key non-conference matchups are Thursday, Nov. 17 vs. Providence as part of the Gavitt Games, Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Virginia, Saturday, Dec. 10 vs. Connecticut and Saturday, Dec. 17 vs. UCLA as part of the CBS Sports Classic in Las Vegas.
Ohio State's 2016-17 Big Ten schedule will be released at a later date.
“With the experience we return from our core group from last season, we’ve put together a non-conference schedule that will challenge our team and put us in a good position for what again is expected to be a very competitive Big Ten Conference schedule,” Ohio State head coach Thad Matta said in a statement. “November matchups against Providence and Virginia as well as back-to-back games against Connecticut and UCLA in December will test our team as we look to grow heading into Big Ten play.”
Ohio State's full 2016-17 non-conference schedule can be seen below. Game times will be announced at a later date. Contests marked in bold will be played at Value City Arena in Columbus.
