Things haven't come easy for Thad Matta's men this season, even in wins. We watched another example Tuesday night when Micah Potter injured himself during the opening tip against Youngstown State.
Potter, a three-star freshman signee from Mentor, went to the locker room shortly thereafter with a sprained left ankle. He did not return to the game.
Afterward, Thad Matta said Potter is "day-to-day" with a sprained left ankle. Matta said he was told Potter landed on the foot of the official following the jump ball.
“He rolled his ankle and from what the ref told me, he stepped on his foot. I’ve been doing this a long time and I’ve never seen that before in my life," Matta said. "He’s in a boot right now and [trainer Vince O'Brien] said it’ll be day by day."
"He’s a pretty tough kid; he’ll get back quick.”
