Marquee matchups in this year's Big Ten/ACC Challenge include Duke at Indiana, Notre Dame at Michigan State, Louisville at Purdue and Michigan at North Carolina.
In last year's Big Ten/ACC Challenge, Ohio State fell on the road at Virginia, 63–61.
Additionally in non-conference play, Ohio State will face Gonzaga in the opening round of the Phil Knight Invitational in Portland, Oregon. The Buckeyes will also play either Florida or Stanford in the tournament as well as one more game.
Ohio State also plays North Carolina on Dec. 23 in New Orleans as part of the annual CBS Sports Classic.
First things first, though: The Buckeyes need a head coach. After parting ways with Thad Matta after 13 seasons, Ohio State reportedly offered its job to Creighton's Greg McDermott on Wednesday night.
Ohio State holds a 6–9 record in Big Ten/ACC Challenge over the last 15 seasons. The Buckeyes have faced a ranked ACC opponent 11 times during the challenge, notably in 2011 when No. 2 Ohio State throttled No. 3 Duke, 85-63. OSU has won five of their last nine Challenge games and are 4–3 at home in the event.
The Buckeyes are 67–47 all-time vs. current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Ohio State has faced every league member at least once and have wins against every team except Clemson (0–1) and North Carolina State (0–1).
