Quick update on Brandon Wimbush, who has been hoping to get back to Columbus this weekend to check out Ohio State.
"It's not looking so good right now," Wimbush told me about his hopes to visit Ohio State this weekend. "I'm having trouble arranging transportation."
Wimbush, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal caller from St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City (N.J.) has talked to the Buckeyes a number of times this week.
"I talked to Coach Meyer and the staff today," he added. "We actually spoke twice this week already so it was limited. They just mention how important I am to their class and that I can make a difference."
While he's not giving up on this weekend's attempted visit, it seems unlikely to happen. Another trip will have to be worked out for the nation's 7th-ranked quarterback. He could couple that visit with some on-the-field business.
"I'm going to have to try for another weekend," he said if this one doesn't work. "I just can't say when as of right now. I was thinking about the weekend of the NFTC and Elite 11 in Columbus."
