Could Ohio State be making a move to get back in the game for the Buckeye state's top 2015 tight end, C.J. Conrad? It appears so now that the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder will visit Columbus tomorrow for Friday Night Lights in Ohio Stadium.
"Ohio State had been trying to get me to come to their camps back in June," Conrad told Eleven Warriors. "Tonight we decided we'd go to Friday Night Lights. I sat down and talked it over with my family. They've been really pushing me to go, so I'm going for it."
"It" in this case, is a shot to earn a long coveted Buckeye scholarship offer. Conrad, who committed to Kentucky in the beginning of May, is trying to turn a busy summer into an offer from his childhood favorite. He was one of only six tight ends invited to Nike's The Opening and performed well. Now, he's keeping his mind on the task at hand.
"I'll be getting to Ohio State tomorrow at 6pm with all the other (attendees). Friday Night Lights isn't a private thing at all. I wasn't going to say anything (about going) but I didn't wanna just drop a bomb and show up and have everyone freaking out," Conrad added. "It's a business trip, I am staying very low key, just going and doing what I need to do and leaving."
