If you know anything about anything when it comes to recruiting, then you know Ohio is loaded with talent in the 2016 class. Top to bottom, the 2016 class might be one of the best in the recent history of the talent-rich state.
One of those prospects sure to be putting his name up there soon is quarterback Gunnar Hoak. While Hoak does not have the early rankings to be among the top in Ohio, that has not stopped him from going out there and earning it.
Hoak, who holds an offer from Toledo, has been going to camps to showcase his skills and has been getting some good feedback from the coaches at the camps.
"I have camped at Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, and a few others," Hoak said. "They all told me that they want to see my film for the beginning of the season. They told me that if I keep showing my talents, things will start falling into place."
Ohio State has always been special to Hoak. His father, Frank Hoak, was a former tight end for the Buckeyes and earned a letter in 1987. Naturally, that led to Hoak being a Buckeye fan. An offer from OSU would be a dream come true for the Dublin native.
"I grew up rooting for Ohio State because of my dad and cousin, so I have always loved them," Hoak said of his love for the Buckeyes. "I visited for Friday Night Lights and the camp was amazing. The coaches are the best thing about the place. It is such a neat place."
Hoak is determined to be one of the best in Ohio for 2016. He will have to show the coaches that he can play with the best in the first couple of games this season. Still, I think Hoak has the determination and work ethic to be one of the best for his class.
