The Buckeyes 2015 recruiting class grew by one tonight as Miami, Florida defensive back Carlton Davis surprised many by committing to Ohio State tonight on a local Florida radio show.

A three-star defensive back and the nation's 58th-ranked cornerback, Davis chose the Buckeyes tonight over offers from Alabama, South Carolina, Miami, Arkansas, Florida, Clemson and others. He's 6-foot-1 and 185-pounds, and provides another tall, rangy defensive back option for Kerry Coombs and the Buckeyes.
Davis becomes the 15th member of the Ohio State recruiting class and second cornerback from the Miami area, joining Jamel Dean, who committed to the Buckeyes in December.
While Davis has committed to Ohio State, it appears that his recruitment is really just taking off. He visited the Buckeyes for Friday Night Lights in July and it put the Buckeyes in the driver's seat.
He had narrowed his list to Ohio State, Clemson and Miami recently, but it appears that things are just starting to heat up for the defensive back.
Chris Ash handled Davis' recruiting for the Buckeyes, and it was Ash who he verbally committed to.
"He's probably a 4.5 guy," one source familiar with Davis' game told Eleven Warriors. "He's really long at 6-foot-2, and has great cover skills. He's tough. He should be a four-star in my mind. He's really good."
