Despite growing up in the shadow of Ohio Stadium, being a top football recruit and a lifelong Ohio State fan, Jonathon Cooper had never been to an Ohio State football game until last night. The first game made quite an impression.
"It was electric," Cooper told Eleven Warriors. "Seeing Lebron James in person, the crowd, it was all amazing. It was a great time. I tried to watch it as both a fan and a recruit because I've never been to a game before."
The loss by the Buckeyes notwithstanding, the 14th-ranked defensive end in the 2016 class says Ohio State continues to make a big impression on him. He says he didn't consider making a commitment, but admits that playing in Ohio Stadium is an appealing option.
"Playing in front of those fans," he said. "That would be amazing, but I didn't think about committing. I loved how the defensive players fired out, how they use their hands on the line. Bosa had one hit that was great."
