'Must Get' Recruits for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Classes

In every recruiting class, there's a 'must get' player – a recruit that would help a school more than anyone else in the class – that a school prioritizes over anyone else. Ohio State's 2015 recruiting class is running out of available spots, but the 'must get' player is still uncommitted. For the 2015 class, as well as the 2016 and 2017 classes, we explore which recruit each class is a 'must get' for the Buckeyes.

2015- Josh Sweat

Even though he suffered a freaky leg injury the other night, Josh Sweat is unquestionably the most important recruit left on Ohio State's board. Even though the Buckeyes are stacked on the defensive line, linemen do not come much better than Sweat. The weakside defensive end runs a reported 4.50 40-yard dash, and he has freakish athleticism. At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, Sweat's burst and closing speed have drawn comparisons to Jadeveon Clowney, and his body type is not far off.

Sweat's recruitment is in full swing, and with Ohio State in his top five, the Buckeyes have a chance at the consensus No. 1 recruit in the class. He is set to visit Florida State, Georgia, and Oregon in the coming weeks; Virginia Tech is also in the mix. I am not optimistic about the chances of Sweat landing in Columbus, but this is one Ohio State really wants and I could see him going anywhere out of his top five.

2016- Nick Bosa

Another defensive end prospect, Nick Bosa is the younger brother of current Buckeye Joey Bosa. The younger Bosa could soon be following in his older brother's footsteps, as his crystal ball reads 100% to Ohio State. Bosa plays at the prestigious St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end could easily become a five-star by the end of this season or next season.

If Bosa plays anything like his brother in college, he is the absolute must get for the 2016 class. Dominant on the point of attack, Bosa could use his already large frame to get to the quarterback. A few years in an elite strength and conditioning program, and it's scary to believe what he could become. There could also be a cumulative effect from landing Nick Bosa, namely developing a recruiting pipeline to Florida. St. Thomas Aquinas is loaded with talent, and if the second Bosa comes, it becomes easier to land future recruits.

2017- Josh Myers

Working under the assumption that Danny Clark is OSU's quarterback of the future, offensive tackle Josh Myers is the must get for the 2017 class. Myers, a 6-foot-6, 290-pounder from Miamisburg, holds offers from some of the top schools in the country like Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State. Myers talked to our Jeremy Birmingham earlier in the spring and discussed his relationship with the coaches.

Myers is going to be the Ohio recruit that Urban  Meyer cannot let slip away. When one of the best recruits in the nation is in your backyard, you must build a fence around the state to protect your turf. Meyer visited his high school last week, so he is putting in the work. I think the Buckeyes the leader here, and in the end I believe he will choose Ohio State.
