For Ohio State to maintain their momentum on and off the field, one of the top priorities is to keep the Buckeye state's best players at home. Today, Todd Sibley, Jr., the state's second-ranked running back in the 2017 recruiting class, helped make that a bit easier when committed to Ohio State.

The Sibley File

  • Class: 2017
  • Size: 5-11/205
  • Pos: RB
  • School: Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★★
  • Composite Rank: 16 (RB)

Sibley, the country's 151st-ranked prospect in his class, informed the Buckeyes – who offered in late January – of his decision during a visit this weekend. He chose the Buckeyes over scholarship offers from Michigan, Kentucky, and Akron, but it was the Wolverines that had been the biggest threat to Ohio State for his commitment. He visited Michigan for their spring game last weekend but his trip to Columbus, where most expected he'd land, sealed the deal for Sibley and his family.

A current teammate of fellow Buckeye commitment Danny Clark, Sibley had talked previously of taking his time before making a choice. After the Michigan offer, the heat ratcheted up for both parties and the Buckeyes came out on top. A 5-foot-11, 205-pound wrecking ball, Sibley is also a track star for the Knights, but the gridiron is where he'll continue his athletic endeavors. He has run for over 2700 yards and almost 30 touchdowns in his first two seasons at Hoban.

Eleven Warriors will have more on Sibley's choice soon.
