When Ohio State lost out on Liam Eichenberg to Notre Dame two weeks ago, there was a bit of a concern who would replace him at offensive tackle in the 2016 recruiting class. Worry no more, Michigan four-star Michael Jordan has committed to Ohio State today, informing the Buckeyes Thursday afternoon that he was ready to join their class.

The Jordan File

  • Class: 2016
  • Size: 6-6/285
  • Pos: OT
  • School: Plymouth (Canton, MI)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★★
  • Composite Rank: 16 (OT)

Jordan was last on campus with the Buckeyes during their April 18th spring game weekend, and he's been in constant contact with Ohio State for almost a year since they first noticed the 6-foot-6, 285-pound Michigan native.

Jordan chose the Buckeyes over a slew of offers, including Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Penn State and others.

The 15th commitment in Ohio State's 2016 class, Jordan is the first and likely only tackle who will be in what could now be a finished offensive line group. He joins Tyler Gerald and Jack Wohlabaugh, who are both interior lineman, as the next wave of slobs.

He has been recruited by Ed Warinner and Kerry Coombs, each of whom were up to see him last week. Coombs let the cat out of the bag on Twitter as the Buckeyes go up north to take a big fish from their big rivals.

Eleven Warriors will have more on this surprising commitment soon.
