It was a wild ride to the finish line, but the end result was exactly what Leipsic, Ohio's Gavin Cupp wanted: he's now committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Cupp's story has been an interesting one, and for a while it seemed there was no chance for his lifelong dream to be realized. Without an offer from Ohio State, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive lineman committed to Michigan State in May and, as the Buckeyes had three offensive line pledges, it appeared that chase for Cupp was over.
Cupp made a decision to camp with the Buckeyes for Friday Night Lights despite his commitment to the Spartans. He tried to contact MSU to no avail, and when the news of his decision to camp made its way to Mark Dantonio's staff, Michigan State moved on and dropped Cupp, offering another Ohioan in his stead.
At that moment, it appeared Cupp's decision had been a bad one. However, five days later, the Northwest Ohio standout got the news he had been waiting for: the Buckeyes offered the three-star lineman and he knew it wouldn't be long until he was officially an Ohio State commitment. He committed to the Buckeyes when he was offered, but wanted to wait a bit before making an public announcement.

Cupp becomes the fourth Ohio State offensive lineman commitment in the 2016 class, joining Tyler Gerald, Jack Wohlabaugh and Michael Jordan. Cupp is likely to be an interior lineman and proved to the Buckeye staff last week that he could play guard or center if needed, along with his current and comfortable spot at tackle. He's the 19th pledge in Ohio State's top-ranked recruiting class.
Eleven Warriors will have more on Gavin Cupp's commitment soon.
