Ohio State has two of the country's Top 15 defensive tackles in the 2017 class already committed, but there had been a big one out there he was still waiting to hear from the Buckeyes and he wants an offer.

Bellaire, Texas' Marvin Wilson, the country's top-ranked defensive tackle and fourth-ranked overall prospect in 2017 had offers from everyone but Ohio State it seems.

"I haven't heard from Ohio State since my freshman year, they came to my school," Wilson, 6-foot-4 and 315-pounds told 11W. "I told them I wanted to go there, that it was my favorite school. I would have committed that day if they would have offered me."

Monday, the Buckeyes reached out and offered the Episcopal five-star.

Of course, committing as a little-known freshman is one thing and certainly, as Wilson's stock has gone through the roof things likely would have changed. What's not changed is Wilson's longtime interest in the Buckeyes, buoyed by the success of a few soon-to-be-NFL players.

"I just loved watching Adolphus Washington and Joey Bosa destroy offensive lines, they caught my attention," Wilson added. "I've always liked Ohio State and LSU since in was little. The environments at those place are like no other."

Wilson, ranked by Rivals.com as their top overall prospect, says the offer moves the Buckeyes way up his list and he will work to set up a visit.

"They are automatically in my Top 3," Wilson said. "I have to get out there, to see what (Ohio State) is for myself."
