So, some events have transpired since this past weekend. You may or may not have heard, but the Cleveland Cavaliers captured an NBA title and LeBron James is pretty good at playing basketball. A lot has also went down on the recruiting trail, so let's take a look at some of the more noteworthy happenings.
The LONG-AWAITED RETURN TRIP FOR TREVON GRIMES – NOPE
If there were a prospect with supposedly high interest in the Buckeyes, but that individual hadn't been to campus in just about two years, we would all be rolling our eyes and doing a bit of the Jennifer Lawrence.
Grimes was reunited with the Buckeyes staff just one week ago during the satellite camp at St. Thomas Aquinas. However, the much-anticipated return trip to Columbus didn't end up happening. The family had been planning to make the trek this past Friday, but those plans are now on a temporary hiatus until later on in the summer.
Reason to worry? Is he going to Florida now? Is the kid annoyed with Zach Smith acting more like Zack Morris on Twitter?
For any other player, especially one in the Sunshine State, this would be an ominous sign. Alas, Grimes has not said anything that should be cause for concern. Yes, actions speak louder than words and all that stuff, but no worries here. The five-star is expected back next month – possibly for Friday Night Lights – and then will be committing to Ohio State before summer's end.
LINDSEY TO VISIT LINCOLN AGAIN
Another five-star wideout who is making a late-August decision will be checking out the Huskers once again this weekend. It's been stated before, but Nebraska is the threat in the race for Tyjon Lindsey, the nation's top slot receiver.
Mike Riley is paying massive amounts of attention to the state of California, and thus far it has paid dividends in Lincoln. Keyshawn Johnson Jr. pledged to the Husks a few months back, and they continue to be in strong spot for both Lindsey and Darnay Holmes. Nebraska also may be making a move for another Cali wideout, Los Angeles' Joseph Lewis. With two wideouts already in the fold, it remains to be seen how many more they even plan on taking.
Lindsey last visited Nebraska in early April, and they've been hot on his trail ever since.
MORE SCORING IN CALI?
Sticking with the Golden State, there's been some chatter on the World Wide Web about the potential for a surprise commitment. The chatter absolutely has surrounded five-star offensive lineman Wyatt Davis, the nation's top-rated guard. Davis was in Columbus this weekend and the Ohio State visit was the last part of a three-school Midwest tour that also saw trips to Ann Arbor and South Bend.
Davis raved about the visit, specifically citing Urban Meyer's involvement and his willingness to show the St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) product everything from the football facilities to the campus life. Davis also is good friends with Buckeye quarterback commit and new ace recruiter Tate Martell. The five-star signal caller unleashed some curious tweets Tuesday night that people may or may not be overreacting to.
We are getting a good one at OSU!

What does it all mean? No one can really answer that right now, but the plan for Davis has been to make an announcement closer to the Army All-American Bowl, but perhaps a great visit has moved up his timeline? Either way, Alabama – the first school to extend an offer – looks like the biggest threat right now.
Two of the nation's top tackles and perhaps the top-ranked guard all in the same class? That sounds kinda good. This will be one to keep a close eye on moving forward.
2018 QUARTERBACK WATCH CONTINUES
Emory Jones took a trio of visits recently and it's definitely looking like those trips will shape his recruitment, at least for the foreseeable future. The Buckeyes entered the fray when they extended an offer last month, and since that time they've been right at the top of the list for the four-star dual-threat passer. Tennessee continues to be the other major factor here and it looks as though the Vols got the last crack at one of the nation's top quarterbacks.
Jones has been mostly silent since last weekend's trip to Knoxville. In fact, virtually all of the communication seems to be coming from the coaching staff at Heard County High School. It's not totally out of the ordinary for a kid to go quiet before making an announcement, so there's probably no reason to try and interpret it one way or the other. He does appear to have followed some Buckeye commits on Twitter recently, most notably Jake Moretti and Marcus Williamson, but again that probably means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things.
An announcement still looks to be on the horizon, though it remains to be seen if it will still happen before the end of the month. No reason to think the Buckeyes aren't still on top, but distance from home may be something the staff will have to overcome with Jones' mother.
FORMER TARGET STRUGGLING TO ADJUST
One former Buckeye target isn't adjusting so well to the college football atmosphere, and as of Wednesday, he will no longer be a part of said atmosphere. Suwanee, Georgia's Chad Clay had the Buckeyes on top of his list at one point during the 2016 cycle. The Peachtree Ridge standout grew up hearing about Bradley Roby and Cam Heyward, two former Buckeyes who also spent their high school days playing for the Lions. However, Clay would ultimately end up signing with the in-state Bulldogs.
He enrolled in January and then in April was arrested for possessing a weapon in a school zone, which is a felony. On Wednesday, the former three-star prospect was arrested and charged again – this time for misdemeanor theft – and was subsequently removed from the football team.
Update: #UGA DB Chad Clay's theft by taking arrest is regarding another student reporting his Apple headphones, valued at $30 were stolen.

Headphones. $30. Yikes.
