Ohio State some good news on the recruiting front Friday with the commitment of five-star offensive lineman Wyatt Davis. Davis — who hails from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California — is rated as the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2017 class and the top-ranked guard in the country, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Davis is the 14th commitment for the Buckeyes in a star-studded 2017 group. He joins fellow five-star Josh Myers and four-star Jake Moretti — a top-60 overall prospect — as commits along the offensive line for the Buckeyes in 2017.
Additionally, Davis' pledge also helped put Ohio State back on top in the 247Sports composite team rankings after the Buckeyes had recently been jumped by Alabama for that No. 1 spot.
Oklahoma, Michigan and Georgia currently round out the rest of the top-five spots in the composite team rankings for 2017.
Ohio State maintained its top spot in Scout's team rankings, as well, and the Buckeyes currently sit with the No. 2 overall class in the Rivals rankings.
Space in the 2017 class continues to be an issue for Ohio State going forward as the Buckeyes are in a serious numbers crunch with a small senior class currently on the roster. But Urban Meyer and Co. have built a monster group so far and it doesn't appear things are slowing down anytime soon.
