It was a rocky fifth and final day for Ohio State commits in Oregon. We had previously discussed two commits who may be in line to earn a fifth star following the Beaverton festivities. Those players – Tate Martell and J.K. Dobbins – had two vastly different performances this weekend.
Martell had his moments, but for someone who typically excels in these 7-on-7 settings, it's difficult to label his performance as anything other than "disappointing." The one-time five-star seemed to echo those sentiments last night, and things didn't get a whole lot better on Sunday.
Man... I struggled to get in rhythm during my last game today.

Tate Martell continues his off streak from late yesterday. Two off target throws then an INT. He is usually so awesome at 7on. Weird.

Just wasn't our day today! Made a ton of great plays just couldn't piece it all together. https://t.co/r8AWOoddvB

Martell and Team Alpha Pro opened the tournament with a 33-0 win, but on Sunday they lost twice and failed to score a single point in either game – a rarity for a 7-on-7 event. Obviously Martell's game speaks for itself and he currently holds a 30-game winning streak as the lead guy at Bishop Gorman, a school that doesn't schedule a bunch of cupcakes. Still, this weekend wasn't exactly what we had expected to see.
J.K. Dobbins, on the other hand, had a nice weekend for Team Lunarbeast. After capturing the SPARQ title on Friday, he was utilized heavily out of the backfield all weekend. He showed some nice hands as well, demonstrating why he's rated as one of the nation's top all-purpose backs.
Buckeye commit Wyatt Davis also had a strong weekend, likely doing more than enough to solidify his five-star status. Davis also took home some honors as he was named one of the final five offensive linemen at the event.

Brendon White looks to have the size and versatility to play linebacker in college, but he settled in nicely at safety this weekend. The No. 2 player in the Buckeye stated recorded a nice pick-six on Sunday. Via

Brendon White has not been off the field this weekend, really impressive performance for him. Steady and consistent all weekend.

Team Alpha Pro had an interesting day as parents of Michigan commits decided to act like juveniles during a 7-on-7 tournament.
Parents of Michigan commits aren't being particularly kind to the Alpha Pro team knowing there are potentially a few future Buckeyes on it.

Yikes.
So funny to me how serious these parents are taking this 7-on-7 tournament. Screaming at refs and trying to call plays from the sidelines

5-star WR Trevon Grimes very heated after incomplete pass called at end of the first half. Told a heckling parent to "get outta here."

Five-star Cam Akers has continued to look like one of the nation's top backs. He and his family are set to return to Columbus for Friday Night Lights.

Martell did find some rhythm with former teammate and Buckeye target Tyjon Lindsey, though the drive was ultimately stymied.
Martell completes 5 passes to Lindsey on the drive but can't score. Grimes is visibly frustrated, but haven't seen too much opp. outside.

Isaiah Pryor and Shaun Wade both missed time for Team Lunarbeast, though neither situation appears to be serious.
