The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder became the seventh member of Ohio State's 2017 recruiting class, committing to the Buckeyes on July 4, 2015 over offers from Cal, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin.
Moretti has missed his entire senior season after suffering a torn ACL at a one-day positional camp in Columbus in June. He was running through a non-contact shuttle drill when his leg locked and his knee buckled.
Moretti, the 13th-best offensive tackle and the No. 78 prospect overall in the Class of 2017, took an official visit during the Nov. 5 game against Nebraska. He's apparently had a change of heart and wants to remain close to home.
Moretti's departure now leaves Ohio State with 16 commitments and only one offensive tackle in its second-ranked Class of 2017.
