A four-star pledge in Ohio State's vaunted Select '17 recruiting class, quarterback Tate Martell led his Bishop Gorman squad to an 84-8 win in the Class 4A state championship today in Las Vegas.
Martell threw for two touchdowns and ran for three more in a little more than a half of action as the Gaels capped a perfect 15-0 season.
Bishop Gorman, currently ranked as the top high school team in the nation, hasn't lost to a Nevada school since 2008 and is riding a 54-game winning streak.
Martell and company beat up on a Liberty squad entering the game ranked 21st in the nation.
