There had been some rumblings around offensive lineman Tommy Brown's status with the Ohio State football team, and it appears there was some fire to the smoke.
As first reported by The Akron Beacon-Journal's George Thomas, Brown has transferred to Akron, his hometown university. Eleven Warriors was able to independently confirm Thomas' report.
Brown, a product of Akron's Firestone High School, is a former three-star recruit and member of Ohio State's 2011 recruiting class.
According to his official Ohio State bio, Brown earned his first Varsity letter last year, playing in 208 plays scattered across all 14 games.
