Ohio State freshman cornerback Marshon Lattimore had surgery on his hamstring Wednesday morning, head coach Urban Meyer confirmed.
The procedure will sideline Lattimore for three months. Meyer said he expects him to redshirt the 2014 football season.
Meyer said Lattimore, a talented recruit of out Glenville High School in Cleveland, hurt his hamstring last spring before deciding to surgically repair the damage this week.
"We had some issues, and then we all said: 'God doesn’t make a hamstring to be sore for five months.'"
Lattimore was expected to compete for playing time against fellow cornerbacks Eli Apple, Gareon Conley, and Armani Reeves.
