The Mirror Lake jump is a tradition unlike any other.
In the name of sport and an age-old rivalry, thousands of youths plunge into the freezing cold body of water every late November before Ohio State's annual clash with Michigan.

According to The Lantern, the event drew nearly 14,000 people. Four people were transported to the hospital for various injuries and five people were arrested for disorderly conduct.
Being that it’s late November, temperatures hovered in the upper 20s. Some wore less clothes than others. Some wore nothing at all.

Some were in panda costumes, penguin costumes, American flag Speedos. One group brought blowup doll.

Like most years, Buckeye football and basketball players watched from afar. Here was a particularly enjoyable moment:

Of course, plenty of people were roaring, “Fuck Michigan!” and bellowing the lyrics to “We Don’t Give a Damn For the Whole State of Michigan.”
Indeed, Ohio State had the club going up on a Tuesday and Mirror Lake was the city's hottest night joint.
