Kyle Dodson's career at Ohio State is over before it ever got started.
The redshirt sophomore offensive lineman has been "medically disqualified from continuing to play football" because of a neck condition, the school announced Wednesday afternoon.
Once a highly-touted recruit from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Dodson, played sparingly for the Buckeyes, seeing action in one game this year and three games last season.
Dodson is perhaps best known for how he switched his commitment from Wisconsin to Ohio State on National Signing Day in 2012.
The Buckeyes play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl Jan. 1.
