With satellite camps in the news — or rather, SEC coaches whining about them — Jim Harbaugh turned heads when he invited every collegiate football coach in America to "Exposure U," Michigan's camp to be held in the middle of June.
Many people, the author included, thought, "Urban Meyer has to accept, doesn't he?" After all, how often does an Ohio State head coach get to proselytize in Ann Arbor?
But it appears Urban Meyer isn't taking the bait, or at least doesn't have any plans to. An Ohio State spokesman told Jim Russ of Freep.com that Meyer's attendance is "doubtful."
Illinois' Tim Beckman, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Rutgers' Kyle Flood, Purdue's Darrell Hazell, Indiana's Kevin Wilison, and Maryland's Randy Edsall all declined invite through "communications representatives."
Northwestern's Pat Fitzegerald, Nebraska's Mike Riley, Minnesota's Jerry Kill, and Wisconsin's Paul Chryst are "undecided."
Michigan State's and Penn State's athletic departments apparently didn't even broach the idea with their respective head coaches.
