As a rookie in the NFL, your job is to show up, work hard and earn your keep while pushing your body to its limits.

Jeff Heuerman's going to have to put that on hold for a while. Again.

Heuerman, according to denverbroncos.com's Andrew Mason, suffered the injury Saturday as he was running down the field at full speed during the special teams portion of practice. The tight end made a cut and his knee gave out.

"I feel terrible for Jeff and this is a very unfortunate situation," Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said, per Mason. "Jeff was going to be a big part of our team this year, and he's still going to be a big part of our team and organization in the future."

Heuerman was supposed to push Owen Daniels and others at his position for playing time to catch touchdown passes from future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, but is expected to miss the entire 2015 season.

"He'll get well and be with us as part of this team throughout his rehabilitation," Kubiak said.

For a guy who battled foot and ankle injuries throughout his senior season as Ohio State won the National Championship, one can only hope that holds true.
