Freshman Torrance Gibson, who signed with Ohio State as a quarterback in February, took reps with the wide receivers group Friday at the team's first practice in full pads.
Where Gibson will end up has long been the subject of speculation. He'd previously stated a desire to come in and compete for a job at quarterback and Ohio State promised him that chance, as our own Jeremy Birmingham reports, Gibson approached Ohio State's staff about moving to wide receiver in an attempt to see early playing time and avoid a redshirt.
The four-star talent from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. gives the Buckeyes an explosive playmaker on the edge opposite Michael Thomas.
