Virginia Tech's football team will wear special helmet stickers honoring WDBJ-7's Alison Parker and Adam Ward for their season opener against the Buckeyes on Labor Day.
Parker, a reporter, and Ward, a photojournalist, were shot to death while conducting a live television interview for the CBS affiliate near Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, about 65 miles east of Blacksburg, home of the Hokies.
Ward graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011 with a degree in communications and media studies.
