UPDATE (12:48): An Ohio State spokesperson clarified Urban Meyer's Monday presser statements. Per the precedent set with the suspensions of Jake Stoneburner, Jack Mewhort, and Marcus Baugh, Barrett will forfeit his summer scholarship package. However, he retains a chance to earn that package back.
At his weekly press conference, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer announced that J.T. Barrett would lose his scholarship for a semester – in addition to the one game suspension announced Saturday – for his OVI charge over the weekend.
Urban Meyer announces that J.T. Barrett will also forfeit his scholarship for a term. Did not expect that.

When you factor in court fees, fines and defense costs, that's one hell of an expensive lesson for the Buckeye quarterback.
FWIW, Ohio States tuition for non-Ohio residents (like Barrett) is $27,365 per year plus $11,666 for room & board. https://t.co/dWKRHfJynZ

Barrett will have a chance to "earn" his scholarship back, according to Meyer.
Meyer also said that he thought Barrett may lose his captaincy, but as of this time, he has not.
As of right now, Braxton Miller is Ohio State's No. 2 quarterback behind Cardale Jones.
