Ohio State sent out a very short statement from Head Coach Urban Meyer today about his intentions, in the wake of some online reports that the Browns were interested in making him an offer. Here is the statement from Meyer in its entirety:
“I am proud and honored to be the head football coach at The Ohio State University. I have no interest whatsoever in any other position outside of my job coaching the Buckeyes.”
File this under "least surprising news ever," and move on. Meyer is one of college football's most successful coaches, with three national championships at two different schools and has lost only four games in four seasons at Ohio State.
It's surprising that Ohio State even felt the need to send out such a statement.
Sorry, Tulane.
Urban to Tulane not looking good. RT @11W: Ohio State's Urban Meyer releases statement he's not interested in any open coaching vacancies.
